UNESCO has made a series of statements on race. These documents, in particular the declaration from 1950 (cf Wikipedia), have shaped the political climate of the postwar era to a considerable degree, and anyone interested in issues having to do with race, should be at least somewhat familiar with them.

• 1978. Declaration on Race and Racial Prejudice.
• 1978. Declaration on Fundamental Principles concerning the Contribution of the Mass Media to Strengthening Peace and International Understanding, to the Promotion of Human Rights and to Countering Racialism, apartheid and incitement to war.
