Has taken down the Gates of Vienna blog
27.01.2013. In what appears to be an act of censorship, Google has removed Gates of Vienna (new server) from its Blogger platform. Writes The International Civil Liberties Alliance (ICLA):
Censoring blogs because those with power in society do not like their content represents a move in the direction of tyranny. It will be interesting to see which blogs will be next on Google’s ‘hit list’.
While Google is a private company that is entitled to make its own decisions one would have expected that it would be in favour of the free flow of information. After all, Google grew in the soil of a knowledge based economy.
The International Civil Liberties Alliance (ICLA) condemns Google’s decision to censor Gates of Vienna. It sees this censorship as a direct attack on the principle of freedom of expression on which any free society is based.

HonestThinking comments: This move from Google is pretty alarming, as far as freedom of expression is concerned. Having said that, here's a relevant quote from a distinguished author that I think the GoV editors would do well in paying more attention to, viz. Paul Gottfried:
I have never shared [Larry Auster's] fierce revulsion for all Muslims as bearers of violence and hatred. I have known practicing Muslims for most of my life, and among them I have numbered personal friends. I have also never perceived any signs of violence or malice in dealing with these Muslims. [...] Although I agree with Larry about the need for a moratorium on immigration, particularly from Latin America, and although I share his view that decadent, childless Europeans are committing physical and demographic suicide by repopulating their countries with lower-class Muslims, who often incline toward Islamic Fundamentalism, I strongly dissent from his unqualified generalizations about adherents of Islam.

«Morally reprehensible and strategically idiotic»
27.01.2013. The following video is excerpted from a debate hosted by Intelligence Squared on January 15 in London, on the topic: “Israel Is Destroying Itself With Its Settlement Policy: If Settlement Expansion Continues Israel Will Have No Future”. It shows Caroline Glick’s spirited argument against the motion, writes Gates of Vienna.
Interprets Django Unchained as «preparation for race war»
27.01.2013. In an interview with YourBlackWorld.net, Nation of Islam leader Louis Farrakhan interpreted the movie Django Unchained as «preparation for race war»:
«To me, the movie had a purpose,» he said. «If a black man came out of that movie thinking like Django and white people came out of that movie seeing the slaughter of white people and they are armed to the teeth, it’s preparation for a race war.»

Immigrants targetting British girls
22.01.2013. Girls as young as 11 were groomed and raped by a child sex ring before being sold to abusers across Britain, a court heard [recently]. Nine men, mostly of Asian heritage, befriended vulnerable girls with gifts of perfume, alcohol and drugs before subjecting them to a 'living hell' for eight years. The six girls were subjected to 'extreme physical and sexual violence' while they were repeatedly raped by numerous abusers. Continue reading in the Daily Mail.
Better late than never for the New York Times
22.01.2013. In a story that was reported by Israeli press, including the Jerusalem Post and Times of Israel, a video from 2010 was released by the Middle East Media Research Institute (MEMRI) of Egyptian President Mohammed Morsi opposing peace with «the descendants of apes and pigs». Double standards
06.01.2013. How does it help race relations in this country when a black actor jokes on national television about killing white people? One has to believe that his opening monologue was approved by [NBC's Saturday Night Live's] writers, meaning they were in on it. Imagine the uproar if a white actor joked about killing all the black people in a new film he was starring in. That would probably be the end of his career. By contrast, for Jamie Foxx, this will probably win him another Oscar. It's a grave new world isn't it? Read more at newsbusters.org.
Double standards
02.01.2013. Geir Lippestad was the primary defense lawyer for the mass murderer Anders Behring Breivik. After the trial ended, he apparently couldn’t resist the urge to act like a Social Democratic politician for the Labor Party — which is exactly what he is. Thus writes Fjordman in an article in FrontPage Magazine. He continues:
Lippestad claimed that the Internet alone was responsible for creating Breivik, and wanted children to be warned against “Internet hate” in school, by which he seemingly meant all those who oppose Islamization.
He admitted that there are “great tensions” in Europe at the moment, but linked these exclusively to unemployment. Yes, economic troubles may well contribute to the current crisis, but what about Islamization, mass immigration, Multiculturalism, or the fact that the native peoples of an entire continent, especially the western half of it, are being systematically deprived of their security, their dignity, their culture and their homelands?
In November 2012, Lippestad participated alongside far-Left activists such as Tor Bach and Lars Gule at a conference about “Internet extremism” arranged by the Norwegian National Crime Prevention Council (KRÅD), a government agency working under the Ministry of Justice. Also present were members of the police such as Vegar Martinsen and Ole Hortemo, who wanted to be “a searchlight” into the dark corners of the Internet, where hateful people spread their propaganda. Geir Lippestad also announced that he would soon brief EU authorities in Brussels on how to contain the Internet radicalization that allegedly created Breivik.
Lippestad specifically highlighted me as one of the dark, dangerous and seductive totalitarian voices that need to be contained, and suggested that Gates of Vienna is a website that openly encourages violence. Similar claims have been echoed by Sten R. Helland — a communications advisor and former Labor Party politician who at his Twitter account has publicly called me a “Fascist” — as well as by the science historian Vidar Enebakk, who despite his scientific training has published totally unfounded and highly unscientific conspiracy theories that a group of people are behind the pseudonym Fjordman, not a single person.
This is, of course, utterly false. The only “violence” I have encouraged is the right for people to bear arms. None of those who survived Breivik’s mass murder — one of whom I know personally — should feel any guilt whatsoever. They survived an extreme situation that could hardly have been predicted. If anybody failed, it was we as a society who did so. If just one or two of the nearly 600 people who were at Utøya when Breivik alone started his massacre had access to firearms, perhaps dozens of lives could have been spared.
The irony is that at the exact same time as Geir Lippestad is warning against “right-wing extremist violence,” there is very real left-wing extremist political violence in the streets of Western Europe, from Oslo to Munich.
